Fluorometric Optimized Determination of Total Glutathione in Erythrocytes

Glutathione is a tripeptide natural product characterized by non-canonical peptide bond with an amide moiety linking the nitrogen of cysteine to γ-carboxyl glutamate, and found ubiquitously in nature, animals, plants microorganisms. One most abundant biological matrices represented erythrocytes, being glutathione only sulfur-containing mechanism for red blood cell oxidative protection. Several analytical methods determination from different samples are described literature these based on use high-performance liquid chromatography. HPLC equipment not available all biochemical laboratories, and, moreover, displays lot economic ecological limitations, including organic solvent consumption time-consuming analysis. Here, organic-free high-throughput fluorometric methodology analysis total erythrocytes reported, avoiding not-sustainable techniques.
